Dear Dragons,
First, I would like to congratulate the entire Dragon family for achieving a school grade of “B”. We are so proud of our students, faculty, staff, and parents for your dedication and support to Alfred I. duPont Middle School. Our students have shown their commitment to academic excellence as they continue to raise the bar and close the achievement gap. We look forward to carrying on the work of our predecessor Teresa Mowbray and hope to continue with the legacy of excellence that she has helped to establish at duPont. We wish Mrs. Mowbray well in her new position as Principal of Fletcher Middle School.
As the new Principal of Alfred I. duPont Middle School, I’m honored and humbled to be called to serve the students and all stakeholders of this historic institution. I have had the pleasure of serving as Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Student Services at Mandarin Middle School for the past seven years. While I will miss the Mandarin Middle School family, I’m proud to be a part of the duPont team and look forward to leading the best middle school in Duval County.
We ask that you support our team by joining PTSA and SAC. PTSA and SAC meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm and 5:00pm respectively. We have several upcoming projects including the first Fidelity Investments Transformation Day on August 11, 2012 from 9:00am – 3:00pm and the launch of our new school website during the week of August 13th. If you would like to volunteer to assist with the Fidelity Transformation Day projects please contact the Main Office at 739-5200.
Parents and students please join us for Orientation on August 17th (dates and times are listed above) and Open House on September 11th at 6:00pm. Please enjoy the rest of your summer and I look forward to meeting you during Orientation.
